Computer Science

The Computer Science program offers comprehensive training in computer science principles, programming, web design, and cybersecurity over a two-year, four-course curriculum where students can earn industry-recognized credentials. Students build foundational knowledge in IT concepts, object-oriented programming, and the web environment.

The IT Essentials course covers computer hardware, operating systems, applications, networking concepts, cybersecurity ethics, and social implications. In object-oriented programming, students learn to represent concepts as objects with data fields and methods, implementing classes, inheritance, polymorphism, and more. The web design course dives into HTML, CSS, web protocols, and creating websites. Finally, the cybersecurity course examines network, system, and application security components - vulnerabilities, attacks, and how to prevent, detect and mitigate threats through security safeguards. Throughout the program, students gain exposure to commercial and open-source technologies and develop programming skills applicable across IT fields.
